FAQ

Each piece created by us is made from hand start to finish with quality materials. We work in silk, coutil, swarovski crystal, and the lead maker has fifteen years of experience creating corsets, as well as wearing them on a daily basis for medical support, which gives her a unique view on the relationship between corsets and the body. Each piece is made in house, with attention to detail paid along every step. Unfortunately at this point, even with prices as they are, we are barely charging wholesale for our work. Hopefully that will be changing.

Why does this cost so much?

How long does the process take?

This depends on many factors! The simpler the corset, the less time it will take. If there is a mockup process involved, each one will require shipping time, then photos/videos or a video chat, and to be shipped back, and that tends to add 2-4 weeks to the final time per mockup. Because of that and several other factors, it can take anywhere from a month to a year.

How many mockups should I expect?

For an underbust, it’s rare to need more than one mockup. Overbusts will require at least one, two is more common, and if you would like it to lay smoothly under clothes, that will usually take three or occasionally four. Cupped corsets nearly always require between four and six to get the cup shape right, those are very finicky to fit. If you have any asymmetry to account for, that often adds one more mockup in addition to what’s listed above.

How does the mockup process work over distances?

Based on measurements, I will make an unfinished coutil version with simplified construction and send it out. When you receive it, I will ask for photos front back and side, as well as a 360 degree video. It’s important at this point to pay close attention to any spots that feel uncomfortable. They are each sent with a couple of coutil scraps and pins if there any spots that pinch, to be slashed and pinned if you are comfortable with it. If not, I will eyeball the changes that need to be made and apply them to the pattern for the next mockup. Then the old one gets shipped back to me, and I begin on the next one, until we have a pattern you are completely happy with, and any changes to the pattern are extremely minor. Then your final corset will be cut and assembled!
